These movers don’t even deserve 1 star. They damaged my house I was moving out of and half of my stuff was damaged. They were 8 hours late showing up to move my stuff out of my house and three weeks late delivering my stuff to my new house. When they damaged my house moving my stuff out they didn’t even tell us about it, we found out from the cleaners that came in after the move. They would not talk to us when we tried to follow up in regards to when we would receive our stuff and were aggressive and threatening. They did come and fix the damage but they would have only did the bare necessities if it wasn’t for my brother who I had watching them made them do the job properly. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS!!

Very happy with the service I received from this company. I moved from Richmond in British Columbia to Montreal. Victoria was my go to person and she helped me get everything together from start to finish. She is extremely attentive and works later hours which made it easy to get in touch with her whenever I needed to, I really liked that. I was very pleased and impressed by the guys that came to pick-up. They took their time wrapping up my furniture and packed my massive Swarovski mirror so well. This mirror is not cheap and I was the most worried about it, so I paid an extra $150.00 to have them wrap it professionally and I am happy that I did because I could not do that great of a job packing it myself. it took them 11 days to deliver, I was told by Victoria that I should expect two weeks so this worked out great as we had already arrived at our new place. The delivery crew was different from the pick up guys but also did a fantastic job. Everything was put in its proper place and room and the guys worked hard and not to mention late until the job was done. Thankfully my mirror arrived without any damages which honestly was my biggest concern from the get go. Very happy with the price as well because the amount is what we were anticipating and what we budgeted when going through our inventory with Vic. I would recommend using this company and dealing with Victoria if possible.

This is one of the most unprofessional moving company I have ever dealt with. 90% of my furniture had a damaged. One of my worst experience to deal with this company. David who doesn't even knows how to talk threaten to throw my furniture away and don't even have a customer service skills. The claim submitted was for 378/lb and he said you were declined. How the heck the bed, dressing table, dining table, sofa can weight 378/lb. this is totally [EDIT]. This company is a scam and deserves and people should no longer be dealing with it. This company doesn't even has a google reviews as they are aware that they will get negative reviews.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1700

I spoke with Brandon from Smart Way moving who seemed to be a great sales rep. They gave me a low rate and I needed storage so this was offered to me. They could not confirm a date of my move and instead gave me a range of three days. Every time I asked when they would have my stuff arrive they avoided the question. I also asked several times for their storage location with no answer. Finally they provided the address of 1670 Enterprise Road. Which came up as Provincial Movers. One quick google check and these guys had terrible reviews. I asked Brandon who suddenly could not speak English about this and had no response. So I cancelled my move with them. They are now refusing to return my $100 refundable deposit with them. When booking they assured me this money was returnable unless it was less than 24 hours notice. I cancelled four days in advance.

Don’t book with them. It’s just Provincial Movers operating under another name.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2500

This is the most unprofessional moving company.
1. They don't come on time
2. Do not label the boxes properly
3. arrogant labor
4. did not deliver all the stuff, when claim was filed they declined it citing the weight of items to be delivered is less
5. broke furniture, decline claim citing the picture doesn't show it as broken when their labor took the picture and confirmed it was broken.
6. charged 3% as credit card fee without informing me

Patiently followed up for 3 months after which they said claim is declined. Spoke to the manager and got the answer to "move-on". They are cheating people in the name of moving stuff. Never consider them for any move.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5000

Always late (by about two hours for pick up and delivery from when they said they’d be there), poor communication. Extremely SLOW. I probably moved more things into my new house than they did. Very unprofessional and extremely discourteous. The delivery driver yelled at my new neighbour when she asked them to not completely block her driveway. Oh. And they can’t park a truck to save their lives! I had zero confidence in this company from the start of move-out day. Would never recommend these people to move anything. Ever.

I was initially very pleased with this company. Victoria was pleasant and easy to deal with; however, she provided me with false information and tried to blame it on company policies changing. When I booked the move I was told to pay the $100 deposit upfront and the rest of the payment would be due when my belongings arrived at my new location. One week after they picked up my things I was sent an invoice and immediately charged for the entire move. The money was taken out of my account before I even saw the invoice and I was not given any opportunity to use a different credit card as I was planning to do. I asked several times about this and all Victoria could tell me was that maybe their billing policies have changed. I called the company and spoke with the person who answered the phone as well as the account and they both informed me it has always been company policy that they take payment before the move. I tried to discus this issue with Victoria and she did not respond to my messages even though the previously had also been very quick to reply. I even asked for the number for a manager I could speak with and she still did not respond. She also told me when I booked the move that it would take 1-2 weeks for my things to arrive and it actually took 4 weeks. I found out from another employee at the company that this was average time. I understand that the company has its policies and procedures and I am more than happy to abide by them but the misinformation I was given resulted in extra charges for me from my bank and no attempt was made by any of the three people I spoke with to resolve this or even admit they made a mistake. The movers themselves were very professional and efficient but the individuals at the office were very unhelpful.

One of the pick up locations of our move has recently been broken into and I am positive it was the movers from Smartway. We are currently in the process of conducting a criminal investigation and we have substantial evidence backing our suspicions to lay substantial charges on both the movers and the company. If anyone else has a similar experience - please contact me.

Additionally our entire move was a complete disaster ad one of the worst experiences of my life. These people are criminals, stay away unless you want your items damaged, stolen, received far too late or you want to pay 3x’s more than the original amount (charged to our credit card without authorization weeks before we received our things) Im certain all of these positive reviews posted are employees of the company. Stay as far away as possible from them.

I hope to prevent anyone else from having to deal with a company that has such complete disregard for their own tagline of "Total Commitment to Quality Service".
Smart Way is a dishonest, and very disrespectful company.
Absolutely the worst customer service myself and my family have EVER had on both the shipping and receiving end. They gave a quote and then charged an outrageously higher price. They were elusive about when our belongings would actually arrive, and it took four weeks to arrive instead of the previously agreed-upon two. They were not forthcoming with any information about our belongings' whereabouts or delivery date. They demanded that we pay before receiving the belongings, so we were unable to see their condition until after we had paid (surprise - the boxes were completely battered). They said they would arrive for delivery between 9 and 10am, and at 10:30 when they had not arrived, we called, only to be told that they were delayed and would arrive in an hour (but didn't think they needed to call us to tell us this). They did not arrive until 1pm - a full FOUR HOURS after they said they would arrive. They will completely disregard your schedule. I called the office to raise my concerns, only to receive the worst customer service EVER - I was hung up on twice, and spoke to a David, who was incredibly rude to me. I am appalled that they are able to keep a business operating when this is how they treat their customers.
I'm disappointed that I have to give them even one star in order to leave this review.

My fault to believe these people even after reading reviews. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Don’t make my mistake. They have lost 4 boxes of my belongings and they keep on telling me different stories. They promised me to get my things in 5 days and took over a month with missing things. At the beginning they sound really nice but after you pay them they are completely rude.
Their prices aren’t as what they tell you either. They will over charge you on additional weight.
I hope they get what is coming to them for screwing families and life’s of inicent people. My kids and my self had to sleep on the floor for a month before we got our bedroom sets. They told me the reason why it’s going to take a much longer time then promised was because they sent my shipment “on accident” to another province.
Don’t waste your time and money on this company. What goes around comes around and Every penny they made from us will hopefully be losses for them.
They hire selling reps that talk nice to you and give you their cell phone number but block you once they get the payment. They have no time to listen to your complaints and the accountant called me “stupid” when questioning the final charges.

I can go on and on but please save your self a headache, money, and time and hire a professional company that’s accredited through the credit bearu. This company isn’t as I have did my studies on them afterwards.

I will keep my review short and simple. Our experience with smart way was great. They executed our move exactly as planned. Showed up on time and delivered within the outlined dates. Movers were efficient, careful and clearly experienced. They packed our entire house which is apart of the service we required. My wife and I move every 5-8 years due to my employment and I will ensure to save Victoria's number once I need to relocate again. We appreciate everyones efforts and Victoria's communication throughout. Overall we recommend this company.

Had a pick up of belongings in Nanaimo, BC to go to Windsor, ON. From start to finish - professional, efficient, courteous, friendly. I really cannot say enough great things about the excellent customer service I received. Victoria my move planner, is very aware of people and their feelings, always made me feel welcome. She is very astute and kind. Made me feel that I was very important customer and she is extremely patient. I would not hesitate to use Smart Way moving again if required. There should be more people in the world as you have at Smart Way, everyone I dealt with I send a BIG THANK YOU.

My experience with smart way was great, they moved my stuff from Toronto to Atlanta. The movers showed up on time and they were very friendly, experienced and efficient. Victoria was my to go person and I cannot thank her enough she was very attentive and always available to answer all my questions and walk me thorough every steps from start to finish. I appreciate her effort and communication throughout. I will definitely recommend them and will use them in the future.

Very Quick to take deposit and money. Extremely rude when asking about my brand new furniture that was badly damaged. Destroyed my computer table beyond repair. Lost my 40 inch Smart TV. They did say I could claim the losses, which I did, I heard nothing from them since. These good reviews are fake I believe, also operate as Provincial Movers. Note their address is a mailbox, you can’t serve papers through a lawyer. I tried suing them. I hope these guys get what they deserve in this life and the hereafter. They don’t deserve one star, but I guess it’s for bringing my belongings from Alberta to Ontario in many pieces.

Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU TO SWM!! Thank you VICKY for setting this up for me and thank you to the movers (sorry I don’t remember the main guys name). I Used SWM for my move from Florida to Canada. I made my reservation with Vicky and really appreciate her customer service and prompt responses!! Honestly she made it SO EASY! Thanks girl you are the best! It took them 6 days to deliver after pick-up, I didn’t need storage. The guys worked hard and I was impressed with the way they handled my newly used appliances and a few antique furniture pieces that are heirlooms. They packed my TV’s for me as well, I paid an extra $80 for the wrapping. My weight ended up a little bit more than I thought it was going to be but it wasn’t anything significant. Vicky provided me with a higher quote in case so I was somewhat prepared and honestly 60 cents per pound from Florida to here is a great deal!! I am satisfied and although I don’t plan to move back I would use them again. 5 STARS GUYS! Thank you so much again SO HAPPY!

I have never complained or expressed my dissatisfaction online. However; if I could prevent anyone from ever ever ever using this company, I will do so. From the beginning to end this company has been extremely unprofessional and verbally abusive. I've never seen a company, especially someone in the management team ( David and Michael) speak to customers is such a degrading demeaning manner. When I asked David for the owners or anyone above him contact information to express my dissatisfaction, he said quote" No, I'm the manager and that's all you need to know, I will not give you anything, do you call Rogers and ask to speak to the CEO). The items were not delivered still waiting and its been 4 weeks, he cancelled my delivery simply because he wanted to give me a hard time. I don't think a company like this should ever be in business if they have no respect for people. When I asked David if he treats all his customer like this he answered: " just the ones that I dislike and give me a headache". Rating is -100 not 1.

I am going to share an email I wrote to the manager of Smart Way Moving. I don’t usually ask people to share but in this case I am asking. This company should not be in business!! I sent this email last Friday. This is the third email I have sent to him. I sent the first one on March 18, a follow up on the 20 and this one on the 22. Still no response. By posting this I realize that I can kiss my missing box goodbye, but I honestly don’t give a flying $&@&!!
When I hired them I was told that I would receive my things between Feb 20 and 25 and that I would pay the balance of what I owed them when they off loaded my things. I was also told my things would be shipped on a tractor trailer.
The day after they picked up Feb 9 I got an email stating I needed to pay the balance of my statement. I called the office once I arrived in Ontario and told the lady that was not what I was told. She said “You need to pay now”. I said “ not happening give me your manager”. I got David. He told me it was all fine and I could pay when they delivered. I asked him when I would get my things and he said the shipment was leaving Vancouver the next day and he would be in touch. After a couple of days he hadn’t called, I called and asked for him. Once he came to the phone he yelled at me for calling and asking for him. He said” the answer will be the same from all of us”. I said ok can you tell me why it’s taking so long? He said no and he had another client on the phone and he hung up on me. I was furious and you could hear it in my voice I am sure when I called back. He told me I would take delivery in Mar 8. I remember thinking I can do 10 more days!! The email will tell the rest of my story. Please please please don’t hire this company to move your stuff.
And and FYI when I talked to him on the Thursday and was told I was not getting my delivery on Friday Nikki Laurin was standing beside me and she heard every word he screamed at me. I didn’t have him on speakerphone!! Here is the email I wrote him.

Hello David.
I will now assume that you can’t be bothered to help me find my missing product. I sent you an email Sunday night. I reminded you on Wednesday. And now it’s Friday and you have not responded to any of my emails. I have tried calling twice and you will not come to the phone. I know I am not your favourite customer because you seem to think I was harassing you and your staff. I was merely trying to find out when I was going to get my stuff. You see when I hired you people to move me, I was told by your salesperson that I would take delivery between the 20th and the 25th of February. When I didn’t receive a call from you then I called to ask when I would get my things. You said March 8. That was on the 26 of Feb. I remember thinking ok 10 more days. Then I called on Monday March 4 to confirm and was told yes I was getting my stuff on Friday. I made arrangements for a friend of mine to come to help me unpack. I called on Thursday the 7 to confirm and was told that I was not getting my stuff the next day. Of course I was upset. But I never once swore or was disrespectful. And by the way your girl Brenda was terrific. You on the other hand acted like a total jerk. I was also told by your people that my things would be on a tractor trailer not a rail car. You called me a liar and told me that I wasn’t allowed to call there anymore. All I wanted was to know when I would take delivery of my things, and why it was taking so long. I explained I had been sleeping on an air mattress for over a month and you didn’t even care, you just hung up on me.
I have decided this will be my last attempt to give you the opportunity to show me that you actually care about your customers. I await your response David, but at this point I don’t expect it.
